SUMMARY:Work Zone TIM Training Webinar
DESCRIPTION:The US DOT FHWA has developed a new training presentation for first responders on the best practices on prevention\, response and follow-up involving Work Zone Traffic Incident Management (WZ TIM). You are invited to participate in this new training session with other first responders. \nDealing with a motor vehicle crashes or similar incidents in a highway construction zone requires the combined skills of many people including police\, fire\, emergency medical services (EMS)\, highway agency\, and contractor personnel. WZ‐TIM is more complicated than ordinary TIM because access to the incident site is often difficult\, there is limited space for response operations\, and there are more organizations to coordinate. SUMMARY:Elko Nevada TIM Train-the-trainer Course
DESCRIPTION:The Train-the-Trainer (TtT) course is intended to provide participants (i.e.\, trainers) the\nknowledge and materials necessary for them to conduct TIM training for responders\nin their area or state. The TtT is a 2-day course that includes classroom training and\nhands-on activities. \nParticipant expectations:\n– Prior instructional and TIM experience\n– Commitment to providing training to other TIM responders in your area\n– Commitment to submitting your training records via the SharePoint site \nThe target audience for this course is all TIM disciplines\, including: Communications\,\nEmergency Management\, Emergency Medical Services (EMS)\, Fire/Rescue\, Law\nEnforcement\, Towing and Recovery\, and Transportation/Public Works. \nThe course will run 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on the 30th and 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on the 1st. \nThis course is free. DESCRIPTION:The Nevada TIM Training is built on the National TIM Responder Training Program\, developed by responders for responders.  It was designed to establish the foundation for and promote consistent training of all responders to achieve the three objectives of the TIM National Unified Goal (NUG): \n\nResponder Safety\nSafe\, Quick Clearance\nPrompt\, Reliable\, Interoperable Communications\n\nThe 4-Hour TIM course is intended to provide participating first responders the knowledge and materials necessary for clearing critical incidents as quickly as possible and reducing secondary crashes. Scene safety\, communication\, and relationship building will be emphasized in a multi-agency training approach with highly qualified instructors from multiple law enforcement agencies\, fire agencies\, NDOT\, towing\, and private sector emergency responders. The course structure will consist of 4 hours of training with credit for engineering and Post Law. \nRegister here.
